CAPAs may need to be updated as they are being resolved, and closed when they are fully resolved. Learn how to use the Actions icon below.

Upon logging into the web app, the user will be presented with multiple icons. The Actions icon will bring the user directly to Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). CAPA can be viewed, updated, and resolved here.

First, filter the list of CAPA:

  1. Choose to view Actions assigned to you, or All Actions. (Please note: You will only see All Actions if you are assigned that permission.)
  2. Choose to view All, Open, or Closed CAPA.
  3. Click Apply Filters.
  4. Click the CAPA ID you would like to review/edit.

Now, you can view and/or edit the details. Please note: If you are the Owner of the CAPA, you will have access to change all fields below.

If you are the Assigned To, you will only have access to view the fields below, change the status/resolve the CAPA, and upload attachments:

  1. View the CAPA information, such as the Point ID involved (if applicable), where it is located, and who generated the CAPA.
  2. View the Problem. If this CAPA was generated from a failed inspection, this will be the Form question that failed.
  3. Enter the Resolution. This will be notes about how the CAPA is being resolved, or notes on how it should be resolved.
  4. Optional: Change the Owner. (e.g. If the original Owner is out of the office.)
  5. Optional: Change who the CAPA is Assigned To. (e.g. If the original Assignee is out of the office.)
  6. Optional: Change the Due Date.
  7. Optional: Change the Priority.
  8. Change the Status as the CAPA proceeds.
  9. When the Status is changed to Resolved, a Resolved By box will appear. This will be the person who completed the work to resolve this CAPA.
  10. Enter a Resolution Comment. This will be notes on how the CAPA was resolved.

Attachments can also be uploaded:

  1. Click Browse to locate the file, then click Upload. (e.g. You may want to upload an order receipt.)
  2. Click the three dots, then Save the changes. If you click Save and Close, your changes will be saved, and you will be brought back to the main Actions screen.
